Humm. Surely the first son takes up the management of the estate and the second son goes into the army, but the first son went into the army and took permanent leave. There didn't seem to be a third son to go into the clergy. William would be the heir to the de Worde fortune unless his father specifically wrote him out.
What is the protocol here? (I don't think we know his sister's age to determine primogeniture.)
