Downsized Abbey

Downsized Abbey is a deconsecrated and partially derelict monastery which now serves the people of Zemphis as an all-purpose souk, bazaar and trading centre. It is entirely possible that this is where Eskarina Smith parted company with the Zoons, and persuaded a harrassed-looking caravan master to take her on to Ankh-Morpork in Equal Rites. Samuel Vimes, when he briefly visited, described Zemphis as a "sink" and looked forward to the day Vetinari would allow him to bring the Law here.
