Doesn't it annotate the old saga of Atlantis in a way? Its rise would surely be a decent cause of another world war, 'cause every nation would fight as hell for its own share of the cake...(80.60.110.205)

An interesting idea. But the nearest the Discworld gets to an Atlantis is Ku, which took so long to sink that its inhabitants learnt to wade everywhere... it might be worth mentioning, as it seems to vindicate the comment above, that when Atlantis rises in Good Omens, the Americans immediately deploy an Army there "for its protection"...

In the referents, Fernando Poo in "Illuminatus!" is explicitly described as one of the last residual outcroppings of Atlantis left above sea after the disaster: this is why it's a gateway to older and squiddier civilizations still.--AgProv 21:32, 16 January 2011 (CET)
