I have, finally, discovered a reference for the Floating Bladder studio. It's tenuous, but The Author loved tenuous. The Cardington Sheds (RAF Cardington) was originally an airship hangar / maintenance installation at Cardington, Beds. but it has been used intermittently since the sixties for film and television production.
