A street in Ankh-Morpork, located in the widdershins-rimwards quarter of the city, near the river. It runs between Treacle Mine Road and Easy Street, halfway divided by Gleam Street. It is known for its tenements and workshops.

Notable buildings:

  • Cable Street Particulars, the "secret police"
  • Gimlet's Hole Food Delicatessen, a dwarf restaurant

On Roundworld

there's also a Cable Street in Blackbury, U.K. It contains the White Swan pub (aka the Dirty Duck) and the former taxidermy shop of the late Solomon Einstein.

There is also a Cable Street in London, [1] the location for the Battle Of Cable Street. Shades of Treacle Mine Road maybe?
