Has cages/pens for ostrich, bewilderbeasts, zebra, giraffes, and elephants (3 elephants in residence at start of book). Starts to work out where he can get more elephants from, but then turns rather defeatist before M'Bu works it out some more. Which suggests somewhere further rimwards on the continent than Klatch. That's where you'd expect elephants, yes, but the the question is: where did they go? No mention of elephants roaming the Sto Plains since. --Old Dickens (talk) 05:29, 21 June 2023 (UTC)
