Patrician of Ankh-Morpork, and predecessor to Mad Lord Snapcase. Also known as Homicidal Lord Winder. During the last years of his reign, he was known to be extremely paranoid. This was probably because many people tried to kill him. He took pride in being pathologically careful about everything.

Final Years And Death

Since a failed assassination attempt Lord Winder went all out on security, employing food tasters, body guards and creating the Cable Street Particulars in order to protect him and the "city". Assassinated by the young Havelock Vetinari during the Great Revolution, killed not by the sword but the heart attack induced by seeing the assassin.
