Mistress Pullunder is a witch, who breeds pedigree earthworms. Well, everyone has to have a hobby. Like many people of a New Age disposition, she has wind chimes hanging around her cottage and garden. As she is a witch, she has tuned them to a scale which, from a demon's point of view, ranges from merely "uncomfortable" to physically painful. When Eumenides Treason died and a conclave of senior witches was debating which of the novices was advanced enough in Craft to be given the status of fully-fledged Witch, and therefore inherit the steading, she was the only witch who supported Granny Weatherwax in arguing that Tiffany Aching was the best of the trainees.
