Talk:Angua von Überwald

Question, Why is Angua put into the "Undead Characters" Category? Last time I checked, weres are alive.

An old debate: they're different from other undead, but they can't be killed without special tricks with silver or something, somewhat like vampires. --Old Dickens 03:04, 24 December 2007 (CET)

Angua has in fact been "killed" once in the books: in Men at Arms, she gets between Carrot and the Gonne, thus saving his life but taking all six (lead) bullets which were meant for him. This gives Carrot an extra incentive to kill Cruces as a man too dangerous to be allowed to live, after which he recovers her body (which incidentally is locked into the werewolf form in which she "died") and takes it to the Watch House Mortuary. Carrot must have had some knowledge of werewolf physiology, as after cleaning the mud off her fur, he occupies himself with other tasks for the rest of the day and waits for midnight and full moon.

Sure enough, she returns to life and he says "I thought it was only silver that killed them. I had to hope".

Similarly, during The Fifth Elephant and his run in The Game in Überwald, Sam Vimes definitely "kills" two werewolves, knocks out a third with a spade, and drives a fourth over a waterfall to a crashing rocky death, only to hear Wolfgang reassure him that they'll only wake up with nasty headaches.
