The Wahoonie is a large, spiky, smelly fruit, resembling the Roundworld durian, but even larger and elongated. The city of Ankh-Morpork is sometimes affectionately called the Big Wahoonie as New York is called the Big Apple.

Being extremely rare the fruit has become much prized among connoisseurs (according to footnote in The Truth). It is one of a group of food parodies including curious squid, Chicken Vol-Au-Vent, and blowfish (see Food and drink.)
