He is not happy indoors, as this is not his natural environment, but to show willing and be one of the boys, he will make a token appearance at the Watch Hogswatch party to tip a pint of gravy down his ear and be seen to mingle for a while, before nipping out onto the windowsill with a party hat on. His paper squeaker echoed out forlornly over the rooftops for the rest of the evening. This is one of the greatest moments of true pathos in the entire canon. Sniff!
