&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;Quaffing is a form of social drinking where most of the ale misses the mouth, and the tankard is used not so much as a  vessel to drink from, but as something handy to conduct the singing.  In [[Überwald]], the amount of beer spilled while quaffing is reduced through the use of the sort of beer stein with a lid.  This is generally a good-humoured way to spend an evening, although the humour does not rise much above rugby club level. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
There is always a danger that quaffing might tip over into [[roistering]].&lt;br /&gt;
