No, not the sort of urban swamp represented by [[The Shades]] or [[Shamlegger Street]]. A &#039;&#039;natural&#039;&#039; swamp, which explains why it has largely been left untouched and has not been built on. It occupies a spit of land in a bend of the river [[Ankh]] and is to be found on the Mapp in reference square *E2. Its near proximity to [[Mort Lake]] and its being bounded by the river on three sides probably explains why it &#039;&#039;is&#039;&#039; a marsh, although several footpaths cross it and its riverside edge is firm enough to support a public thoroughfare, [[Marsh Bank Walk]].
