Since {{SG}} takes place in the Year of the Notional Serpent, which we know to be 1985 in the Century of the Fruitbat, it follows that the 19th and 20th (or the Fruitbat and its predecessor) are the centuries the Monks merged, so that {{SG}} occurs in 1885 and 1985 simultaneously.
