Well, ''Amanita Muscaria'', the fly agaric, is a sort of toxic mushroom which the Marquis de Sade, for one, considered to be an aphrodisiac. It actually increases blood pressure and heartbeat and too much will kill - it has the same effect, ultimately, as strychnine or deadly nightshade (belladonna).
