&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;I wonder if The Author, with his penchant for layers of meaning, gave more consideration to the lilac than just as a flower that appears in late May. Lilacs seem to be a particularly Ankh-Morpork sort of plant: tough, resilient, downright pushy. They will advance by stealth and overwhelm other shrubbery. Try to kill them and you may find that they have out-flanked you and established surrounding positions.&amp;lt;BR&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
