			::It's a little vague in the original footnote, but it sounds as if the plague of rats and the bounty appeared near the end of Snapcase's tyranny and one of Vetinari's first proclamations was "tax the rat farms". Is there a case for suggesting Snapcase might have been the Patrician, in {{COM}}, who gives Rincewind the choice of looking after Twoflower or being tortured to keep him alive until the Agateans can claim him and torture him some more? :Yes, there is. Now, Pterry has gone on the record as saying the Patrician of COM was Vetinari- or at least that Patrician grew to become Lord V as we know him. But the timeline discussions have demonstrated that Snapcase has to be the Patrician who celebrated his 10th anniversary in Mort, and Mort necessarily came after COM.
