Atlantis is a fabled lost continent which chooses to re-appear as a location in Good Omens. It is promptly occupied by the armed forces of the United States, who are keen to defend its liberty and Atlantean freedom against... well, they just occupy the place, on general princoples. Apparently an ocean liner suddenly runs aground and confused-looking people in togas who have appeared from seemingly nowhere end up learning the rudiments of deck quoits.

The infernal Antichrist was responsible for (re)calling Atlantis into existence, apparently.
