This spell can be used to lift things. For example, in Moving Pictures, the Faculty of UU use it to move Windle Poons and his formidable wheelchair over a wall. It doesn't seem to be as effortless as the name suggests, however, which maintains continuity with the rest of the canon, where we are repeatedly told that in order to move something - in order to balance the Magic - something of an equal weight must be moved in an opposite direction. The strain of this has caused the brains of some Wizards to leak out of their boots. Two Archchancellors (Cutangle and Ridcully) struggled mightily to contain the forces they were playing with. Both, coincidentally, were with Granny Weatherwax at the different times these events are described.
