A living, breathing, argument against the Frout Method of Learning through Fun!. As Susan Sto Helit realised, this feral child, who will surely be up before the Patrician when his birthdays get into two figures, is exactly what you get when you bring up a child with no sanctions and boundaries.

You do not trust a child like this near pigtails, the classroom pet, or the hallows of the stationery cupboard. While she was able to impose a few boundaries on him in her classroom, and also to have the sort of words at a Parents' Night that resulted in Jason's mother hitting Jason's father hard with a suitably rigid object, Susan fears the damage is already done and before he's much older there will be a Watch, or even a Tanty, involvement in Jason's further education.
