Ning the Uncompassionate

Ning the Uncompassionate was a contemporary of Evil Harry Dread, mentioned in The Last Hero. He was (in)famous for his saying "I shall revert to this vicinity". However, as Boy Willie points out, it's sort of hard to do that when your head's nailed to a tree. That was Boy Willie's subtle way of ensuring he had killed him.

A parody of the character Ming the Merciless from the Flash Gordon franchise.

His "I shall revert to this vicinity" saying is presumably a parody of "I'll be back", as uttered by The Terminator in that franchise, neatly tying together two of the most successful science fiction franchises of the twentieth century.
