• its amusing name, and
• having reneged on a deal with the rat piper who then led all the town's children away to an unknown fate.

Annotation

In the UK Pork Scratchings are a snack sometimes sold in pubs.

(But in the U.S.A. they're usually called pork rinds, so they had to change the name of the town, too.)
