Ok, this is just pure curiosity. I was wondering if there's a reference for the section about Vetinari's clock being made by anonymous member/s of the guild and when it says 'Vetinari is believed to have paid most handsomely for such an example of craftsmanship' believed by whom? Those on the disc or readers? And just because somethings believed does not make it fact.
I'm still slowly working my way through the books so am not sure whether I've missed it in reading or am yet to read the book with a reference in it. It's just, considering Vetinari's use of metaphors I've always had a little thought in the back of my mind he might have an interest in horology...
