Any previous Palace contract to Clancy's of Long Hogmeat for dogfood would presumably have ended with the death of Wuffles.

The thought occurs that with Vetinari having a new dog with special dietary requirements, co-inciding with a perceived need to keep an eye on the motivations and loyalties of ms. Speaker, a man as elegantly economical as the Patrician might combine both objectives by asking Grace to tender for the petfood contract. That way she can be discreetly and inobtrusively observed by the Palace, as well as proving her goodwill to Vetinari as a dutiful citizen, by providing only the very best offal and sticky toffee puddings for the new dog...--AgProv 09:27, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
