Dr Earwig (pronounced "Ah-widge") is a former Wizard at Unseen University who retired from practice to get married. Some of his former colleagues seemed to remember that he had died; when told that he had left to get married, Mustrum Ridcully opined that it was much the same thing. Since he is married to the supercilious Witch Letice Earwig, he may even wonder by now if isn't worse.
