There is a tantalizing hint in {{MM}} that he is the originator of the Potato Cult of which  [[Mr. Tulip]], and in the end [[Mr. Pin]], were believers. In {{MM}}, there is passing reference to a potato-based religion requiring its devotees to wear symbolic golden tubers on a chain about their necks, which is beginning to gain ground in [[Ankh-Morpork]]. It may be that Epidity is gaining ground in the divinity stakes and is one to watch. He is celebrated in the month of [[Ember]], which {{TCDA}} notes is the season of potato-harvesting just before winter.
