I believe that it is Rosie (Mrs. Palm) who sends the egg to the tomb of Mr. Keel
I concur. Lady Meserole could not have known the quip Keel made about having a hard-boiled egg when Mrs Palm, Reg and the others were discussing slogans.
but
Throat Dibbler does say "Madam always makes sure there's the egg." Of course, Mrs. Palm is a madam, but the character commonly called "Madam" is Lady Roberta, who might well know the story without having heard the original quip. I don't agree that its a fact that she's Havelock's aunt. "Aunt" in the sense of "old friend of the family", maybe, or perhaps it was just her little joke.(A female "funny uncle?")
If the book ever gets filmed:
Roundworld actress Joanna Lumley would project exactly the right blend of maturity, sensuality and intelligence for the part of Bobbi de Meserole.
Not for me. Perhaps just because of AbFab, but she has the image of a lower-class climber; Lady R. should be the opposite, a high-class dame who can slum it with anybody. (Not that I can suggest better; I don't think they're making that character any more. Probably not P.C.) --Old Dickens 21:58, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
On the other hand, for some years, now, I've envisioned her pretty much as Reba McEntire (on stage in the sparkly dress, of course, not in the TV series with the Oklahoma accent). But then, the Oklahoma accent would likely do for Genua, which she was probably faking in Night Watch. --Old Dickens 04:11, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Title
It's the only one we have, but there's no reason to suppose that Meserole was ever her name. She may actually have married a Genuan named Meserole, or not (it's a very Genuan-sounding name, indeed). In Night Watch she was on a mission to overthrow the Patrician; she wasn't necessarily using her real name. --Old Dickens 01:24, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
It might not be but it is the only name we have. If you find a better name say so and change it. --Confusion 02:12, 23 October 2011 (CEST)
