General Iam Fri'it was one of the fledgling revolutionaries in old Omnia who believed that the Turtle Moves. A master strategist and head of the Divine Legion, he was nevertheless outmanoeuvred by Exquisitor Vorbis, who put a very powerful argument forward: to wit, he had Fri'it executed.

Annotation

Iam Fri'it, as in "I am frit" (frightened)?

Alternatively, on Roundworld, the figurehead of the Christian faith, Jesus, often refers to himself with "I am" statements: "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life"; "I am the Good Shepherd", "I am the Light of the World", "I am the Bread of Life", "I am the True Vine" and so on.

Or it could be a misspelling of "Ian" (Scots for 'John'), but I doubt it.
