The colour of the common snarg is determined by the colour of the hairs it lives near, where as black snargs (a larger more vicious sub species of the snarg) as their name implies are always black. Black snargs are from the furthest corners from of the unswept regions where they grow to three times the size of a common brown snarg and have eyes that glow green. In recent times they have been domesticated to be used as steeds by the [[mouls]].
