A perfectly understandable attitude on Death's part, as, if you read Revelations carefully, when the Apocalypse is over there is no need any more for Death, who must himself submit to death and cease to exist. Death, who like Crowley and Aziraphile, would be seriously inconvenienced by the end of the world, would also have a vested interest in postponing, or preferentially, averting it.
