"Indeed, A True Atheist Thinks Of The Gods Constantly, Albeit In Terms Of Denial. Therefore, Atheism Is A Form Of Belief. If The Atheist Truly Did Not Believe, He Or She Would Not Bother To Deny." ~Lance Constable Dorfl

Dorfl isn't an atheist or an agnostic, really. It's impossible on Discworld with thousands of gods in obvious existence, perhaps throwing lightning bolts at you. No one can deny the existence of gods, and everyone has to choose which, if any, to follow. Rather than disputing the fact of gods he disputes their right to command or influence him (not the supernatural being but its godhood;) he is eager to to argue with them or their priests. Perhaps we could call him an antitheist (or just really bloody-minded.) Nanny Ogg made a similar point, saying that gods obviously existed; she knew where to find a couple any day of the week, but there was no need to go believing in them. . --Old Dickens 17:06, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
