:I thought the implication was that other Clacks towers have to remain active 24/8, so they don’t even get that one hour - certainly not the way Gilt runs the Grand Trunk. -- Guybrush (talk) 03:21, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
:Revising this comment to say that other Clacks towers might get two "hours of the dead", but they have to remain active during them since one of the lines is still up. They don’t get any time when they can completely shut everything down, so any maintenance would have to be done by half the crew while the other half are still signalling. 181 can have everyone working on maintenance at the same time, and all take a break together, too. Definitely an advantage with the way Gilt was understaffing the Grand Trunk to cut costs. -- Guybrush (talk) 03:21, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
I thought of a few scenarios; that's probably the most likely. --Old Dickens (talk) 00:47, 7 January 2023 (UTC)

Revising this comment to say that other Clacks towers might get two "hours of the dead", but they have to remain active during them since one of the lines is still up.
