This may take the analogy to the British army cartridge a bit too far, or it's employing journalistic arithmetic. The diameter of a .303 bullet is .311-.312 inches; .303 is the land diameter of the barrel. The bullet can vary in length but a maximum is about 1.18in. If we're thinking of the whole cartridge, it's over three inches. The .303 bullet would travel at three times the speed of light on Discworld, causing problems with Quantum. --Old Dickens 20:45, 17 February 2008 (CET)
