Has Mr. Pratchett by any chance ever been caught on the 'It's A Small World' ride at Disney? That would certainly explain his hostility. One sits in boats that move all too slowly past ranks of dolls singing a song that gets into your head and plays for DAYS. I am reliably informed that I sang 'It's A Small World' for at least a week after visiting Disneyland at the age of five. My parents are saints - I was allowed to live to grow up!
