Junior Postman Trinder is famous for having been killed by the Post Office Cat, Mr Tiddles. In the Ankh-Morpork Post Office Handbook 2007, it is revealed that the Mr Tiddles of the day in 1635 slew 1,137 rats, 1,563 mice and voles, 212 small birds, and one unfortunate junior postman. Apparently Mr tiddles was hunting on a high ledge on the Post Office facade and whilst intent on avicide, dislodged a small piece of masonry from the crumbling building that hit Trinder on the head. The cat escaped without a scratch, which is more than can be said for Trinder. Or the bird.
