I have a suspicion that just as the British Museum receives a single complimentary copy of every book published in English which is then shelved in the British Library, the Unseen University library receives its own file copy of every book published in Ankh-Morpork. It certainly has the shelf space...
This would serve two purposes: one, the knowledge that a single copy of the book will survive somewhere for scholars of the future, and two, the Wizards get to exert a right of veto on anything thought of as being uncomfortably close to magic being disseminated to non-wizards. So how can they complain about a mere recipe book utilising herbs and spices for maximum effect...--AgProv 09:13, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Isn't this the same as The Joye of Snackes?--Zdm 05:54, 25 January 2012 (CET)
- Similar, only this one's spelled correctly. --Old Dickens 00:10, 26 January 2012 (CET)
