A gargoyle whose patch is intimately bound with his name, unlike Constables Pediment and Downspout of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch.

A minor character, Cornice-overlooking-Broadway helps Sam Vimes with His Enquiries when he explains that the antagonist in Men at Arms "ad a ire-ork ick - oo o: ang! ock! arks!" (A little explanation: garagoyles have fixed features. Putting lips and movable vocal cords round this you may well get that he "had a firework stick - you know: Bang! Pock! Sparks!")

On learning who Vimes was, he asked him did he "ork for ister Arrot?" Even fixed-position gargoyles know Carrot - he comes up to their level and speaks to them sometimes.
