Voodoo

A variation on a theme of witchcraft, practiced in the low-lying swampy delta region around Genua. It's a vile calumny to say it's all about producing zombies - Zombies are more than capable of producing themselves - but its practitioners aren't above working with zombies (as well as the best gods they are able to make) to achieve the desired end.

Annotation

Bears some resemblance to Voodoo on Roundworld - especially the more fanciful aspects of it; those picked up on by film-makers, scaremongerers and the lower elements of the media. In Voodoo, there are loas, "created gods" who act as conduits for the gods to surf down and take an active part in human affairs. Some of the most powerful are Papa Legba and Erzulie Freda: names with a resonance for TP readers!
