Paranoia Inversa
Another one of those embarrassing ailments forensically listed, or at least embalmed, by the Guild of Barber-Surgeons in their indispensible medical manual Household Medicine, Hair-Care and Simple Surgery. This is not to be confused with the Goddess Anoia; Annoia, pronounced Annoy-yer, is the alternative name for the syndrome.
A sufferer from conventional paranoia believes the world is out to get them. A sufferer from paranoia inversa has an equally irrational and compulsive belief that they are out to get the world (before it gets them). The classic case history is that of Mrs Evarita Pewter.
