Gurder is a character in the Bromeliad Trilogy. He is first a young plump lesser priest of the Stationari, and then upon the death of the previous incumbant become the Abbot of the Stationari. He does not outwardly want to go along with plans to leave the Store but eventually consents. He elects not to go into Space with the rest of the Nomes, but to wander the world spreading the word of salvation to any Nomes he finds, with the assistance of the Floridians.
