Combers

Combers are a different variety of Stepper. They are more solitary, often emphatically so, and have no interest in settling down in a colony alongside other people leaving Datum Earth for a new life. Combers are the ones who step further, seek out the lonely places, make small discoveries, and explore generally for the Hell of it. Sally Linsay is a typical Comber. Others include Australian aborigines looking for a new Dreamtime, and the spiritual descendants of the Mountain Men of the old American frontier.
