Too proud to be a seamstress, too intelligent to be a wife, she took the only other profession then available for a woman with spirit and no discernable magical talent.

She is a barbarian heroine of the old school. Although what with the way the hero's life is contracting and fading now, and after the unavoidable bodge she made of her last known barbarian heroine assignment (to capture Rincewind, Twoflower and the Luggage), she may, like so many other former barbarian free spirits, be considering alternative employment, ideally one which includes bidets, an occassional hot bath, and access to hairdressers and beauticians. (Had she been around a few books later than The Light Fantastic, she might have considered joining Angua von Überwald - a lady with a similar employment dilemma - in the Watch)

Known associates: Red Scharron, with whom she enjoys unwinding with a small glass of something sweet and sticky and a game of canasta.
