Monica Jansson

Monica Jansson is a member of the Madison Police Force and is the first to find the original Stepper and is one of the first to come to turns with policing in the stepping age. She is one of the few people friendly with Joshua.

She had a failed same-sex marriage. Exhausted by a last trip into the Long Earth and having effectively sacrificed her life in entering the lethally radioactive pyramid on Rectangles, she returns to Datum Madison and dies peacefully in her sleep, attended by Frank Wood.
