Night Dweller was published in the November 1965 issue of New Worlds Science Fiction 'The Wrecks of Time.' The short story is one of Terry Pratchett's earliest science fiction works, predating The Dark Side of the Sun by eleven years. The plot centres on a spacecraft called the Ear, crewed by four staff, in a future where humanity can reach the edge of the solar system and has discovered lifeforms that can survive in the vacuum of space; some of which are vastly more terrifying and dangerous than others.
