Spanish has ''peliquero/a'' for wig maker. French, however, has ''perruquier''; there's an English version of this word that is still used, as a professional term, by the last hold-outs of traditional wig-making who manufacture for the legal profession.  So via Spanish there is a tenuous link      - not sure about the French, though![[User:AgProv|AgProv]] ([[User talk:AgProv|talk]]) 16:37, 4 December 2012 (PST)

Yeah, the new phenomenon of dark glasses for Reformed Vampires that I invented last year shows up at Argus Opticians. There's a lot of room for coincidences in the big city. I'm still fascinated by this name. "Steps" should indicate a riverside location, a landing, but there it is high and dry over by the Lady Sybil. It's used for "dandruff" but that's as close as I can find to wigs. --Old Dickens (talk) 07:05, 25 November 2012 (PST)

Spanish has peliquero/a for wig maker. French, however, has perruquier; there's an English version of this word that is still used, as a professional term, by the last hold-outs of traditional wig-making who manufacture for the legal profession. So via Spanish there is a tenuous link - not sure about the French, though!AgProv (talk) 16:37, 4 December 2012 (PST)
