Yet a different count says twelve thousnd? Interesting.  Could these be remote hits by a spambot looking for a weak place to dump crap? --AgProv 15:51, 7 August 2011 (CEST)

Ah, I see... the main page to this article has been viewed 12,023 times whereas this, the discussion page, has only been visited eight. So nothing wrong with the count, then.--AgProv 15:53, 7 August 2011 (CEST)

As noted in Talk:Cost of Living in Ankh-Morpork, boots seem extraordinarily expensive in A-M. Now why has this seemingly obscure note been viewed twelve thousand times? The PopularPages list is is full of surprises. --Old Dickens 04:25, 7 August 2011 (CEST)

Expensive either way

As noted in Talk:Cost of Living in Ankh-Morpork, boots seem extraordinarily expensive in A-M. The cheapest factory-made boots cost ten days' pay and a bootmaker gets easily five dollars a day for a week to make a good pair. The principle seems sound but the numbers are fishy. --Old Dickens (talk) 01:35, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

Title?

Is there a reason for the title of this article not matching the name used in the text, which is "Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness"? In any case it's going to get a lot more traffic now... -- Guybrush (talk) 00:25, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

On the other hand, AgProv conveys the idea more concisely as a headline. Do you really think it needs to be moved? --Old Dickens (talk) 03:32, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
No, you make a good point; might be worth creating a redirect just to make sure it catches searches based on the book text? -- Guybrush (talk) 23:26, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
Sure, it seems like a rare case, but why not? I continue to wonder why boots are so expensive in A-M. --Old Dickens (talk) 23:33, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
On second thoughts, having the full name in the text of this article should be enough to catch searches using the terms "socioeconomic" and "unfairness", though "boots theory" ought to be enough really. -- Guybrush (talk) 12:26, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
