The Compleat Discworld Atlas spells the pepper "chilli", while the Roundworld spelling for the hot pepper is "chile", "chili" being the sauce or stew made from them. Whaddya gonna do? --Old Dickens (talk) 03:23, 26 October 2023 (UTC)

”Chilli” is the common British (and Australian) English spelling for the pepper (we don’t call them peppers, we call them chillies). Chili and chile are rarely used, but sometimes for specific dishes whose names are in Spanish (e.g. chile con carne). So I think it should be “chilli”, as per the book. Do we have a policy on preferring UK spelling and terminology here, given the author’s origins? —-Guybrush (talk) 22:24, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
