Brother Upsett is a long, thin, especially grim-looking Fool who has the unenviable job of teaching Mime Artistry at the Fools' Guild School and who therefore has to walk a narrow and perilous tightrope suspended over a long fall into a scorpion pit. While Vetinari has no objection to the teaching of mime within the walls of the Guild according to its custom and practice, he does object, in fairly emphatic terms, to practitioners showing off their skills in Ankh-Morpork.
