This possibly parodies dim sum on Roundworld, where clods of nameless meat (possibly cheap pork sausage-meat) are wrapped in pastry parcels and either deep-fried or boiled, then served in thin sauce. The mysterious substance known as tofu offers another possibility: whitish, gelatinous, tasting of not very much, and mysterious in its manufacture and provenance.
