Talk:Book:The Long War

A short discussion with AgProv reminds me that the Discworld Series wasn't the same after The Author familiarised himself with the universe, either. I was unimpressed by The Long Earth but I may have to investigate the rest. Is Stephen Baxter's involvement waxing or waning, I wonder? --Old Dickens (talk) 02:49, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

Bosun Higgs: See, this physicist would have assumed the name were merely a nod to the Higgs Boson (the particle associated with the Higgs field, from which arises the mass of fundamental particles). Dayenu. But the fact that there's a deeper reference to other literature blows my mind. Haven't read more than half the first book in the Long Earth series, but love this reference. That's why I read this site.  :-) Moishe Rosenbaum (talk) 21:11, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
